In-person therapy for individuals and couples in Golden, Colorado
If you have made your way to this page, it’s likely that you’re going through something and looking for some support. Therapy isn’t just for people with mental illness. Life is hard for all of us. Unexpected changes happen. We lose people. We get disconnected from who we truly are and what we believe in. Daily tasks become overwhelming. We stop taking care of ourselves. Soon enough, we’re just surviving life, instead of thriving in and savoring it.
Working with a therapist can help you attain true wellness: in your mind, body, and spirit. The benefits of therapy are research-backed, and often profound when you personally experience them.
I offer in-person individual and couples therapy for people in Golden, CO. I also offer individual online therapy for people living in Washington, DC and Florida.
What treatment modalities do I use?
Emotionally Focused Therapy (EFT)
Emotionally Focused Therapy (EFT) is an attachment-based approach that helps individuals and couples understand and transform negative relationship patterns. By fostering emotional safety and open communication, EFT strengthens secure connection, allowing partners to respond to each other with greater empathy, trust, and support.
Internal Family Systems Therapy (IFS)
Internal Family Systems Therapy, or IFS, helps individuals understand and integrate the different “parts” of themselves that may be in conflict. It views the mind as made up of various subpersonalities or “parts,” each with its own perspectives and roles. IFS aims to create harmony within by fostering a compassionate relationship with these parts, helping people access their core Self, and guiding them towards healing and self-acceptance.
Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT)
Acceptance and Commitment Therapy, or ACT, focuses on accepting difficult emotions and thoughts rather than trying to change them. It emphasizes being present in the moment and aligning actions with personal values. By developing psychological flexibility, individuals learn to handle their inner experiences more effectively and commit to actions that enrich their lives, even in the face of discomfort.
Psychodynamic Psychotherapy
Psychodynamic Psychotherapy explores how unconscious processes and past experiences influence current thoughts, feelings, and behaviors. It emphasizes understanding the influence of early relationships and unresolved conflicts on present-day issues. By bringing these unconscious elements into awareness, individuals can gain insight into their internal conflicts, develop healthier patterns of behavior, and achieve emotional growth.
